What we process

• VAT numbers you check, and the business name/address VIES returns. These relate to businesses; for sole traders they may include personal data, which is public via VIES.
• IP address, used only to enforce free-tier limits; kept in hashed form for at most 48 hours.
• License key and email for paying customers, provided by our payment reseller Lemon Squeezy.
• Launch notification emails, only if you ask to be notified. Used once to tell you paid plans are available, then deleted unless you become a customer.

Why

To provide the service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Retention

Free lookups are cached up to 24 hours. Pro validation records (proofs, bulk results) are kept for as long as your subscription is active plus 90 days, so you can export them for your audit file.

Your rights

You may request access, correction or deletion of your data by emailing [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Cookies & analytics

We don't use cookies or third-party trackers. To count visits we store the page, referring website, country and a daily-rotating anonymous hash (no IP address is stored). Your license key is stored in your own browser's local storage.
